2007-12-31 2007 synopsis: past, present and future
 

2007 is over. like every year we look back, see what is now, and what will be, probably. if you have a look at the older synopsis articles, you might see that some expected things did not happen, others did, anyway, let´s give it a try, once again...

past: we espected new releases by dissdent(en) club. well, they have simply split up and returned to former projects. 2007 was the year of AESTATE, a great debut album, which gained fantastic feedback, next to their music also new borders in video generating are explored. in summer this year sven has been working on his fifth solo album, which is already finished. the single "actually" makes sure there are still some good ideas to be put on record.
next to that we launched the svennet/CAMP. and after all this playing around with exclusive sites on svennet, the CAMP really makes sense!
live 2007: AESTATE played live with graph in düsseldorf, and sven joined factor-4 as general piayda at juicy beats (see journal)
present: sven is recently finishing the next AESTATE and is rehearsing with AESTATE for the upcoming live dates. also he is doing the artwork for the next sven album.
future: the new sven album will be entitled "pentagroove" and is expected for spring 2008. the second AESTATE album is scheduled for summer, let´s see. sven also confirmed to come up with a catalogue on his photographic work in spring. this is a project we postet in spring this year. (see 2007-04-12 the press on aestate / sven piayda photography retrospective)
hopefully, we will hav the book out in 2008.

2007-12-20 ACTUALLY OUT NOW, sven#5 to come, CAMP upgrade
 

we are proud to announce that sven´s new single actually
is released today.
actually is available as free download, audio stream and physical release (see actually features below). it is the first single of sven´s 5th solo album, entitled pentagroove. the new album is scheduled for march 2008 on zany music and features appearances by marcel groth (MELANCHON, factor-4), utku mogultay (ghost frames), "targia" angela vogt (tuareg, factor-4) and claudia relota (euphoria).

2007-11-26 new single "actually" out 2007-12-20
 

it is becoming real. "actually" the new song from sven will be out on december 20th, 2007. it is going to be the first single from the new fifth and so far officially untitled album scheduled for spring 2008.
"actually" will be available as free download, audio stream and physical release. the cover artwork can be seen above, some feedback on the pre-release in the CAMP can be read below (see svennet news 2007-11-10).

2007-11-10 feedback on "actually" straight out of the CAMP
  as we told you last week, we collected the first feedback from our CAMPers, the first ones who listened exclusicely to the new sven single "actually", which is scheduled to be released in december.
here we go:

SPU morton (temple bar resident dj):
"killer killeresque, a little smashing pumpkins, kicks ass!"

claudia relota (euphoria band):
"anyway a reaction - "actually" influenced by the music of the killers sven made a new album and "actually" is the first release from the new album, i don`t remember the name...coming out in december. i hear words i know from sven´s vocabulary already like prison, dealing with, "no more reaction to the world", sven found a way bringing all bad feelings to one song making me high and i know it´s the only way to get through with it, for you and me. "actually" is a a piece of work of more independent rock i would say, sven´s striking a new way, rich in detail as always, the drums and the rhythm well arranged, mutation guitar sounds and harmonies building a little piece of work, a reaction to the world, a breakout of the prison, a dealing with pain. we know in the end we will get through."

2007-11-04 feedback on "actually" and the CAMP
  just a tiny report. we are happy to tell you, that many of you are handling the CAMP without any problems and enjoy the tunes.
and: there is a lot to come up, even more stuff, demos and lost songs from the past.

some of the CAMPers wrote some feedback, still comming in, we will post the feedback on the upcoming single "actually" within the next weeks. "actually" will be out as single in the end of december, probably as physical single featuring "closer" and "holy anger draft" as bonus tracks. and as free digital release via svennet.

2007-10-27 new song in the camp, new videos to come up
  a lot of new media is coming up: the first sounds of sven´s new album (scheduled for spring 2008) will be found in the camp within the next days. the new song "actually" will be available via audio stream in the first weeks of november and will be released as single and free download later this year.

next to that, sven is also working on a video for the new song, still it is not clear, what it is going to look like, because this time it seems to be a more serious production, script, cast and music is done, the rest is a challange of synchronizing schedules...
the next AESTATE video has been finished weeks ago (as we know now) but a screening date isn´t fixed yet. it is fully animated again and features the track dael gishel.

2007-10-17 current event: sichtwerk 2007
  like in every year, sichtwerk opens at the end of october, join the free cross dicipline exhibition from 2007-10-19 to 2007-10-21 at the university of duisburg essen. explore tomorrows art and design even today! you can get more info here: www.sichtwerk.org

sven has joined the exhibition two times so far, in 2001 and 2002.
he also directed a tiny movie giving an overview on the 2001 exhibition. this movie was originally produced for pav2 (phoenixarts) and was featured on the pav2 site. now it is available on the net again. enjoy.

actually, there are some changes coming up. sven, our visitors (thank you for feedback) and all at svennet became a little bit dissatisfied with our site.

version 5 develloped over two years, it got better and more complex, and finally it leads into something far away from the original idea.
there were many different designs, brilliant ideas, unfortunately many of them did not work, so, up to the next one.
we will come up with version 6, based on version 5, but faster updates, better access on information, a more simple, or let`s call it scandinavian design and: svennet/camp!

what is it? in version 3 we offered something called member area but it did not work very good, now we will come up with some special offers again: listen to new sven sounds earlier than others, and get special downloads like unreleased, demo or alternative version mp3s.

2007-10-01 euphoria follow up gets shape
  sven has been very busy in studio to master and bring the euphoria follow up album on the first master cd...after a lot of trying, trial and error there seems to be a reay of light. it my take some time until we will hear the first sounds of the next album, but what we can say is following: it is the longest sven album so far, it is going to run about 77 minutes and it is the most strange one, there are a lot of breaks in it and, of courste, fantastic guest musicians.
the first single is expected in the end of this year.
we will come up with features about the guests, the traklist and on new sounds...

2007-09-25 portrait 8th anniversary, new svennet radio
well, things doesn´t turn out the way they were ment to. as sven already reported in the journal, we wanted to come up with anew version of svennet, but all the brilliant ideas we had turned out to be worse than the current version. let´s see what may come up in the future, seems like version 5 will stay, facelifts included.
facelift one: the new svennet radio is flash-bases and launches in a pop-up. we hope this makes it easier to handle and to listen to.
the design will even capture the next album cover design again, be patient.
the scheduled recording day for today was cancelled, to done soon. everything seems to be a little bit delayed...

maybe so good new in the end: portrait was released eight years ago,
still sounding fresh, ehh?

2007-08-17 new aestate video "peel aest" on screens now
  the new video from AESTATE is now available. it feature the track "peel aest" from the current album. actually, there was another video for this track, done in 2006 to promote the album, but the group was never happy with the result. the new video features compleatly digitally generated images and it is strongly influenced by alexander rutterford´s work. AESTATE are recently working on a new album scheduled for summer 2008 and promised to come up with more visuals. click the image below to watch the video. it is the most outstanding video work for the electronica group ever done.

2007-08-08 factor-4 "drehdruck ep" out now
  wow, that was quick! electronic music collective factor-4 released the new "drehdruck ep" yesterday. it contains - next to the original edit - different mixes and versions, as well the live version from juicy beats, featuring sven piayda and targia.

2007-07-31 factor-4 with sven piayda & targia live at juicy beats aftermath
  electronic music collective factor-4 played a fantastic gig last saturday at juicy beats 12 in dortmund, germany, joining sven and targia from tuareg. their sound was somewhere between elecctronic dance music and rock, shifting computer generated music into real live performance by featuring sven on guitar and targia on vocals. the guys from factor-4 are absolutely happy with the performance and announced to go on collaborating and performing live with this line up in the future.
the gig was recorded, filmed, photographed i.e. dokumented perfectly, so we hope to have some more sounds, pics and videos in the near future. there are even rumours of a live ep, but it is to soon to tell more, there are a lot of brillant ideas in the orbit.
  above you see the band performing the track "drehdruck" which was turned into a real song via exclusively written lyrics by targia. you can listen to the live performance of "drehdruck" at the svennet home site/the factor-4 site, even more features to be announced on www.owom.net - the official web site of factor-4.

2007-07-23 tiny reminder: factor-4 with sven piayda live at juicy beats 2007
  electronic music collective factor-4 will play live at the 2007 juicy beats festival in dortmund, germany, joining sven piayda for this live date. next to him tuareg lead singer angela is also featured for this show.
juicy beats is one of germany´s most important electronic music festivals, coming up for the 12th time on july 28th, 2007, headlined by deichkind and gus gus.

sven is joining factor-4 for live guitars, exclusively and for the first time. he already played with factor-4 in september 2006 at the 6th dortmunder museumsnacht with his electronica group aestate.

2007-07-08 another tiny studio update, everything is grey
there are some things new to mention since our tiny studio report a few ays ago. sven has finished the preproduction, the structures are set. he also came up with a twelve-string-acustic which is here to be used in studio. we already told you what it is sounding like at the moment, some things are quite countryesque, french house, metal, rock, dance, these are really strange sounds these days, but the funny thing is that everythins sounds very, very dark. so the next album is going to be a dark one, looks like that. sven isn´t telling much, no talking about it, he is recently setting the studio and the other equipment and he is really mad about every delay. we´ll see.
no release date scheduled, probably not before 2008.
we hope to offer some sound snippets a little earlier.

2007-07-04 first impressions of the new sound - sven in studio
 

as we have told some days ago, sven wanted to go back to studio, and well he is. he is recently working on the structures and synths sounds. according to him, a big part of the pre-production is already done, remember, the songs are already written and arranged! sven doesn´t like to show his machines recently (sounds like old 606 drum machines and sequencers, and really aggressive drum work by scott), and at this first state of production it is hard to say what it is going to sound like in the end. the sounds and songs remind (so far, there is a lot to happen within the next weeks) of the killers, old nine inch nails, tool and even daft punk. (never read these names in one sentence before, right?)
sven said, the new album even has a working title which can be taken in the end, but nothing´s safe. it is not going to sound like euphoria from 2006, maybe more like a dark side of euphoria, whatever this may mean.

2007-06-30 watching, listening and writing - euphoria follow up
 

sven has been busy with many projects within the last weeks, playing live with aestate, rehearsing with factor-4 concerning the live gig at jucy beats and giving a face to libella proof. next to that there was also much time to watch a lot music live like graph, disco ensemble, dog eat dog and finally daft punk (see picture above, read flint´s review in the svennet journal). this is worth mentionin, because sven always announced to be bored of concerts, recently there seems to be a lot of interesting live sound.
sven is not telling to much on new solo plans but he is writing songs recently, planning to return to studio within the next weeks, recruiting new musicans for the new band. some rumours on the line up, confirmed are claudia relota and scott rockenfield, once again, more names in the orbit...to be confirmed.

2007-06-03 aestate live aftermath (updated)
  on friday, may 25th, 2007 aestate played their first gig after releasing their self-titled debut album. a big successful electronica party: many of you were there, some of you didn´t. therefor we have been and are still collecting every sound, video or image snippet to give it to you. as souvenir or to give you an idea of an aestate performance.
above you see a photo taken by hamburg-based woman artist phoenix, it is one image among others capturing the moment perfectly. additionally she also had been filming snippets of the gig, so we can offer a collection of filmed beats below, hope you enjoy. additionally flint filmed the live performance of "ipx enna oprat beet" (among other sounds), his video is already edited and will be available on the net within the next weeks. it is also a big pleasure to announce that the whole live performance had been audio recorded, recently we haven´t listened to it, so we cannot say anything about the quality, we don´t know in which way it will be released. there will probably be some snippets...

2007-05-19 the libella takes off - libella-proof.de launched
  ok now, this is the solution to some rumours spread over the last weeks. sven has been working as art director for the new company libella-proof. company founder michaela best and sven piayda have created the corporate identity including flyers, website and especially the beautiful logo, as seen above. the logo is a mixture of a dragonfly (based on a pun, the latin word for tiny book is libellus, as the german word for dragonfly is libelle, the a-ending turns it into something female) and a pen, becuase libella-proof´s work is recently strongly text based.
sven said, it may become an expensive fashion label in the future...
but it isn´t sure yet.
anyway, everyone is happy with the results, more to come...

2007-04-23 art cologne aftermath
 

the art climax of the year. you know, sven tries to see every art show (especially if it features photography). this years art cologne is over, for the first time in spring, for the first time with flint, once again the art scene slowly gets some dirction.
running around, trying to see everything, searching for the new superstar, this year´s appreciation goes to a japanese photographer, recreations of casper david friedrich´s work with digital photography, more soon.
all in all very satisfying, according to sven.

2007-04-12 the press on aestate / sven piayda photography retrospective
 

aestate have just released their debut album, but they are recently very busy prepairing for the long awaited 2007 live dates. you will find more info over at kulturkurier.de. please check the link for all info on aestates live gig in may.
we also found out on black ninfea´s page that aestate have done a remix of the black ninfea track "need". recently it is not released, we will have to wait, but the release is scheduled for this year anyway.
aditionally huff and piayda are working on more video material. acording to some rumours, the next video will be "trkbet", release date to be announced.

2007-03-25 art cologne opens in spring now - set your schedules

in autumn 2006 the have been soume rumours around saying the art cologne, germany´s bigges art fair, is going to open in spring from 2007 on. well, it was true. sven is a big fan, visiting it since 2000 nearly every year. the image above shows sven with dc-mate herpes gugushi on the 2005 art cologne. we just checked the art cologne site yesterday an thought you should know. do not miss it, it is a fantastic event, and don´t forget: there will be no art fair in october, see?
we expect sven to be on the art cologne in this year as he also promised to come up with a portfolio in april. there will be a lot things worth a look this year.

2007-03-19 as heat melts the broken pieces - the advent of summer

if you have a look into the svennet news archives you´ll might realize that the last years allways started with seaching for new projects and directions. as we allways try to let you know what is going on, we want to bring up sven´s blurps on a nutshell:
the two snapshots above have been taken by sven on march 8, 2007, handed over mentioning that the advent of summer ideas and power will (probably) return.
sven is recently writing song again: there are some tunes, some riffs, guitar driven stuff. there are rock bands worth listening to again. the killers made a big impression on me, among others. we´ll see. whenever i write something it has to be compared to "euphoria", so if i cannot do it better, i will do it different, i guess. no need to hurry, anyway.

2007-03-07 now it´s "aestatected" - aestate visuals on svennet
 

while we are waiting for the AESTATE debut album to be released, we added all the media and info, like visuals and releases info to svennet. it is sven´s latest and recent project/band and so it needed to be added to the catalogue.
next to the nine upcoming brand new tracks aestate have also produced three tiny promotional videos: the childish digital peel aest, the confusing ipx enna (oprat beet) and the highly attended time lapse bechcaes.

2007-02-10 quo vadis 2007: first sketches: ae, patch, dc3

 

as every year, the first months seem to made for finding a direction. masterpieces take time, so we want to give a short update of what is recently known.
aestate will release their debut album in spring, www.aestate-online.com will tell the definite date within the next days! also, sven mentioned something like a free download area, so far titled "AESTATEpatch", featuring non-album tracks and remixes. but this is just a concept in need to be worked out within the next months.
the dissident(en) club is working on the 3rd album for more than 15 months now, but as well as herpes gugushi and sven also reported to enter the final phase of producing. new member thorsten gumball fits perfectly into the new sound.
no release date so far, but a clear direction and brilliant ideas.

2007-01-21 new video "bechcaes" by aestate out 2007-02-03

 

aestate will release their new video bechcaes on february 03, 2007. the video features time lapse footage and digitally generated clouds. it was directed by aestate again. bechcaes is the third promotional video after peel aest and ipx enna oprat beet. bechcaes is one of the outstanding tracks from aestate´s forthcoming and self-titled debut album. according to some rumours, itteki (www.myspace.com/itteki) is working on a remix of bechcaes. please visit www.aestate-online.com for more information.

the debut album is expected in spring 2007, a fixed release date is getting closer.
allthough the album is not released so far, there are a lot of tunes available to listen to and/or to download on the net. www.aestate-online.com features two downloads from the fourthcoming album plus an exclusive non-album track mp3.
